The medical IT output value will reach 2.749 billion US dollars in 2018
According to a report by global market research and consulting firm Markets and Markets, the combined global healthcare IT output is expected to reach US $2.7459 billion by 2018, up from US $1.7373 billion in 2013.
To complete the report, the company analyzed a variety of products, including interface engines, medical device integration and media integration; services such as implementation, maintenance and training; and hospitals, radiology, laboratories, clinics, and health information exchange applications.
From 2011 to 2014, the key strategies adopted by key players in the global healthcare information technology integration industry were agreements, cooperation and partnerships, the report said. This is to achieve product upgrading, access to direct technical capabilities and expand their image.
The growth of the market can be attributed to rising health care costs, which have forced governments in many developed countries around the world to actively adopt cost containment measures in their health care systems.
According to the report, The global demand for health care integration will continue to grow, triggered by strong government support and programs, the growing need to integrate health care systems, and efforts by healthcare providers to maximize returns on investment.
In addition, interoperability issues with healthcare IT remain the most prominent challenge limiting the wider adoption of integration tools in the healthcare industry.
